GDPR; Terms and Conditions
The General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) came into force on 25 May 2018.
Information as to how PB-MarineTraining implements the GDPR is as follows:
When you send an application form to our training centre PB-MarineTraining, the data forwarded is used to contact you, send course note books to you by post, or phone you in urgent cases, e.g. course cancellation.
When you register for our Marine Radio Short Range Certificate (SRC) courses, PB-MarineTraining will also forward your data to the Royal Yachting association (RYA) in England, so they can issue you with a Short Range Certificate (SRC). On successful completion of your Short rance Certificate (SRC), your name, contact details, date of birth, certificate number and date of issue will be shared with the RYA through a secure web portal on www.rya.org.uk. The data will be stored on the RYA’s central database. This information allows the RYA to record your qualification, to update any records they may hold for you, and to verify or replace your certificate at a later date e.g. if lost or stolen. For further information on how the RYA deal with your data, please see the RYA’s privacy policy at http://www.rya.org.uk/legal-info/Pages/privacy-security-and-data-protection.aspx .
PB-MarineTraining will never send your data to any other third party, other than to the RYA.
If you would like to have your contact details removed from our data base, then please contact PB-MarineTraining. We will delete your data immediately.
Please note: RYA training centres are required to store SRC exam papers for five years.
